OMAHA, Neb. (April 2, 2008) -- Last August, Omaha was one of several cities to host American Idol tryouts.  This was Omaha’s first opportunity to host a stop on the tryout tour and more than 10,000 singers auditioned at the Quest Center of Omaha, with 19 lucky contestants advancing to the next round with a ticket to Hollywood. 

Although no native Nebraskans made it to the top 12, David Cook from Blue Springs, Mo. tried his luck in Omaha, and has since become a top 10 contestant, a fan favorite and the projected big winner by American Idol judges.

In the spirit of Omaha’s successful first run with American Idol tryouts, Aksarben®/ARS® Heating, Air Conditioning and Plumbing is teaming up with KPTM Fox 42 for the “See Idol Live”  contest where two lucky Omaha Idol fans will win a trip to the American Idol Finale in Los Angeles, Ca. this May.

“American Idol took Omaha by storm,” said Aksarben®/ARS® Heating, Air Conditioning and Plumbing General Manager John Aliano.  “Omaha’s enthusiasm and excitement for American Idol inspired us to create this contest, and we look forward to sending two lucky people from Omaha to see their favorite performers battle for American Idol status.”

Now through early May, American Idol fans can watch KPTM Fox 42 News at 9 p.m. every Tuesday for their chance to win.  During each news broadcast, FOX will ask trivia questions and viewers at home can then go online to www.kptm.com, answer the trivia questions and register to win.  Those who answer the questions correctly are then placed in a drawing to win the chance to see American Idol live.
