  • Do I need an electrician?

    Nov.19.2008

I just had a heating repair man over to see why my heater won't blow hot air. He said all the heating elements and computer board were fried as if a lightning strike had occurred. We have had other electric problems where a whole line, which runs through the bathroom and kitchen, was also "fried" and left burnt marks around the lighting, etc. Do you think I need to have an electrician come look at our system before I bother to replace the heating parts?

  • What are the pros and cons of an electric shower?

    Nov.13.2008

I was recently in the UK and every shower was an electrical shower -- meaning there was a switch to turn the system on and then an in-shower push button system to turn the water on. I was wondering why you do not see these more in the US and what pros and cons there are for these types of systems. Thank you.

    Julia, Orlando, FL

An “electric shower” uses what is called a point of use water heater. A point of use water heater is a compact, tankless style water heater that provides instant hot water to individual fixtures. They are usually at Read more
