ARS (American Residential Services) is once again pleased to promote ARS Cares, a program dedicated to celebrating everyday heroes in our communities. If someone in your neighborhood consistently goes above and beyond to help others, now is the time to honor their contributions.
What is the ARS Cares Program?
The ARS Cares Program was established in 2016 to reward “heroic” or deserving members of the community with a new HVAC unit or water heater. Since then, ARS/Rescue Rooter has provided more than 300 home service makeovers (HVAC units and water heaters) to worthy recipients while donating more than 2.5 million dollars in equipment and labor. This water heater assistance and HVAC assistance program has helped hundreds of everyday heroes. And here’s the excellent news: You can nominate a deserving community hero in your neighborhood who needs a new HVAC unit or water heater.
Who can be nominated?
So, you may be wondering, “Who qualifies as a community hero?” Great question! Local or community heroes can be all types of folks—from medical personnel and daycare teachers to shelter workers and senior helpers. Community heroes come in all shapes and sizes and often go above and beyond to help others because it’s simply in their nature. Think about the special people in your life who have brightened your days and made your life better. Who are those humble servants you rely on day in and day out for extra help?
Consider the following types of people*:
- Teachers
- Medical personnel
- Shelter workers
- Dog and cat rescuers
- Police and firefighters
- Pastors and church members
- Grocery store clerks
- Postal workers
- Neighbors who mow lawns and shovel snow
- Local librarians
- Mail carriers
- Pet sitters
- Elderly care workers
- School volunteers
(*Many people can qualify as heroes, not just the examples in our list. We encourage you to think outside the box about the folks who contribute to the good of your community.)
What does an ARS Cares recipient receive?
Everyone deserves to be comfortable in their own home, but sometimes, we all need a little assistance. When you nominate a deserving local hero, they could receive a new heating and cooling system or water heater. Bonus: ARS/Rescue Rooter will install it for free!

Which locations are participating?
All ARS branches/locations are expected to participate in the initiative.
